CTRBench: open benchmarks for AI YouTube production.

CTRBench is a set of open, auditable benchmarks for what it costs, in money and in hours, to produce faceless YouTube videos with AI. Every external number is taken from a vendor's live public pricing page with a date and a source link. Every modeled number publishes its assumptions so you can re-run the arithmetic. CTRmaxxing publishes and maintains CTRBench, and that disclosure appears on every page.

How the benchmarks are built

  • Published assumptions

Every modeled figure states its assumptions inline: script length, iteration counts, token workloads, narration pace. If you disagree with an assumption, you can change it and re-run the arithmetic yourself.

  • Public pricing sources

External numbers come only from vendors' live public pricing pages, quoted with an as-of date and a source link. We do not use hearsay, screenshots from third parties, or numbers we could not verify on the vendor's own site.

  • Estimates labeled as estimates

Modeled costs are good-faith estimates, not absolute truth. Real workloads vary widely, so we publish ranges and sensitivity notes instead of a single false-precision number.

  • Refresh cadence

Each external figure carries the date we verified it. We re-check sources when we update a benchmark and aim to re-verify at least quarterly, or sooner when a vendor changes published pricing.

  • Disclosure

CTRmaxxing publishes and maintains CTRBench. Where a benchmark reaches an editorial conclusion, it is labeled as our own assessment and the underlying numbers are shown so you can audit them.

What a 10-minute faceless video actually costs

Four routes compared on money and hands-on hours: DIY with a Claude-class API, DIY with a GPT-class API, VidRush, and CTRmaxxing. Verified vendor pricing with sources, modeled arithmetic with published assumptions, and an honest section on when DIY is the right call.
